The Oxford University Museums, funded through the Arts and Humanities Research Council’s collaborative doctoral partnerships, invite proposals for their collaborative doctoral partnerships. These enable HEIs to provide studentships for PhD studies conducted in collaboration with the university museums. The scheme focuses on research that helps to develop new perspectives on the collections and to share knowledge more widely and effectively with a range of audiences, while also training a new generation of scholars working between the academic and heritage sectors. Projects may involve any aspect of the museums’ operations and profile, including not only collections history and other object-focused studies, but also other aspects of museums such as education, conservation, architecture, communities, media and communication, art or information studies. Projects can be on any topic within AHRC’s remit.
